MANEY BHANJYANG

Situated at a height of 2150 meters, Maney Bhanjyan is a small transit-town in the Darjeeling Sadar subdivision, Darjeeling district in the state of West Bengal in India. It lies on the border between India and Nepal. These two countries of India and Nepal are separated by a small culvert, which also acts as a motor stand for vehicles ferrying people to Sukhiapokhri and Darjeeling. The place is located at the gateway of the Singalila National Park which is just 28 km away from Darjeeling town. Maney Bhanjyang is the starting point of the trailhead for the trek to Sandakphu on the Singalila Ridge, the highest point in West Bengal. Conveyance for Sandakphu is easily available mainly from Maney Bhanjyang in the form of Land Rovers of 1960 model. As it is the starting point of your marvelous journey to Sandakphu, you will find quite many houses and camps set for the convenience of trekkers. Besides that you will also find an unusually high number of the rugged land rovers. One of the interesting facts of the place is, one can find plenty of vehicles which are classified as vintage, owing to the decade of years they have been in existence.
