RED PANDA SIGHTING AT SINGALILA NATIONAL PARK

Singallia and tinchuley forest is also the hotspot for both red panda and birding. Other Himalayan mammals found in the region are clouded leopard, yellow throted martin,barking deers ,pangolin, Himalayan black bears and wild boars. The park in enriched with varieties of birds like blood pheasants, satyr trogapan,  parrot bill, fire tailed myzornis,bull finches,wren babblers,minivels,parvidges ,  tree creepers and many more .

Red panda

Red panda is scientifically known as Ailurus Fulgens found on eastern Himalayas and south west china. The name red panda is said to be derieved from nepali word ponya which means bamboo and plant eating animal. Red panda is listed as endangered specis according to IUNC red list as a result of climate change , deforestation, poaching AND in breeding depression. Now there are estimated 10000 tred pandas in the world. It is roughly the size of domestic cat and has a reddish fur ,long shaggy tail and a waddling giat. The head and body size is mearly 20-26 inch and tail is 12 -20 inch and weighs 12 to 20 lbs. red panda is a solitary animal and spends most of their life on trees  and is mainly active from dusk to dawn. It feeds mainly on bamboo, eggs, birds and inscect.
